What would be a good book to read in the next season of your life?
I do not believe one can reach his full potential in life alone. Indeed, we all need each other, and we all need to learn from each other. And a great way to learn in life is through reading good books written by excellent authors. I have written more about this in a previous post of mine.
However, if you are very busy and you do not have time for any books, then stick to the Bible. Because the Bible is the Word of God and the rest of the Christian books are just commentaries from the Bible. Moreover, if you want to have a good and unshakable foundation in life then build your life on the Word of God and nothing else.
And, as I said, and because my friends always ask what books I am reading at the moment, I will share some of my favorite books I have read so far in 2018:
A good book to read is How to read a book by Mortimer J. Adler
If you never read this book maybe it is time for you to read it. It is a long book, but it is worth reading it, especially if you love reading. Needless to say that until I read this book, I thought I am a good reader. However, this book demolished many wrong ideas I had about reading and boosted my reading skills to new levels. The author describes the four levels of reading and that reading can be hard work.
Many Seminary professors recommend this book to their students. Indeed, one can develop his reading tremendously through the insights presented here. It is worth the money!
A good book to read can be You shall be holy by Rabbi Joseph Telushkin
I had to read this book for one of my Seminary courses this year. (Especially Vol. II- Love your neighbor as yourself). It is not a Christian book. However, if anyone wants to learn more about the Jewish people and gain some Jewish insights, these books can be a great help.
The author is a great scholar and touches subjects like free will & the human nature, repentance, humility, anger, gossip, the fear of God, vegetarianism, etc. He covers many essential topics about life and God. Therefore, it should be read by any person who is interested in ethics from a Jewish perspective.
A good book to read can be Answering Jewish objections to Jesus by Dr. Michael Brown
Michael L. Brown wrote Answering Jewish Objections to Jesus, to refute the objections of the Rabbis and to provide intellectually substantial responses for the Jewish people concerning Yeshua/Jesus the Messiah of Israel. Therefore, it is a must-read for any person who loves Israel and wants to be more efficient in his ministry or knowledge about the Jewish people and Israel. So, if you have Jewish friends, neighbors or acquaintances, make sure you read this book! Dr. Brown has a lot to offer. And he touches some of the most challenging questions a Jewish person can have towards Jesus. It is a masterpiece!
A good book to read can be A lawyer’s case for his faith by Jim Jacob, Esq.
It is the testimony of a Jewish person who came to know Jesus/Yeshua the true Messiah of Israel. Moreover, it is a book that brings intelligent answers about God and the life of Jesus. Therefore, if you have an unbelieving Jewish friend or just someone who does not believe in God, give him this book. Indeed, it is an excellent book to read for any believer, Jew or Gentile.
A good book to read can be The Intercessor by Norman Grubb
This book is about the life of Rees Howells— a great man of God from the past century. Moreover, I have gained many precious gems from this book! And I cannot say enough how blessed I am after reading it. Therefore, if you have not read it, make sure you grab a copy of it and start reading this book. Needless to say, I am sure I will go back to it many times and reread it.

I am a blogger, writer, pastor, Director of Zion Romania Bible School, husband to Olguta, a father and, most importantly, a child of God. I also completed my studies at the King’s University where I earned a B.A. in Theology with a concentration in Messianic Jewish Studies. I love Israel and I love the ‘Jewishness’ of the Bible.
