Practical Steps to Break Free from Pornography
By Onisim Moisa
You want to follow Jesus faithfully, yet pornography keeps drawing you back into secrecy, guilt, and another promise to change.
The Path to Freedom brings together my personal testimony, biblical teaching, and practical lessons from my own journey toward freedom.
Explore how repentance, dependence on the Holy Spirit, honest accountability, and everyday decisions can help you pursue a life of sexual integrity.
Who The Path to Freedom Is For
This book is written for Christians who want to confront pornography and grow in holiness.
Perhaps you have tried to stop but keep returning to familiar patterns. Or perhaps you understand the seriousness of sexual sin but need help connecting biblical truth with practical action.
The book may also help pastors, mentors, and mature believers who want to better understand the struggle and encourage someone they care about.
Above all, it invites readers to bring their lives into the light and pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus.
What You Will Explore
The chapters address both the spiritual foundations of change and the practical choices involved in pursuing freedom.
- Sin, grace, and holiness: examine what Scripture teaches about sexual sin and the ongoing work of sanctification.
- Your relationship with God: consider the Father’s love, the lordship of Jesus, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
- Changes to your environment: identify access points and habits that make temptation easier to act on.
- The condition of your heart: examine misplaced desires, inner struggles, and patterns beneath outward behavior.
- Confession and accountability: learn why honesty with trusted, mature believers matters.
- Prayer and journaling: explore practices for reflecting on your experiences, seeking wisdom, and responding differently.
Together, these themes encourage you to apply what you read while remaining dependent on God’s grace.
Why I Wrote The Path to Freedom
When I surrendered my life to Jesus, my struggle with pornography did not disappear immediately. Instead, I became more aware of my sin and began learning how to confront it.
Along the way, God used Scripture, prayer, mature believers, and difficult practical changes to shape my life.
I wrote this book to share those lessons. Although it includes my testimony, its purpose reaches beyond telling my story: I want to encourage you to respond to God’s Word in your own circumstances.
My hope is that these pages will help you seek Christ, ask for support, and take responsibility for the steps before you.
A Look Inside the Book
Among the chapters in The Path to Freedom, you will find:
- My Testimony
- God’s Love Is Unconditional
- God the Holy Spirit as My Teacher
- At the Cross of Jesus
- Urgent Changes
- Change of Mind
- Take Care of Your Heart
- Walking in the Light
- Wisdom for the Battle
- Pray for All Things
- Search Your Life
For example, “Wisdom for the Battle” discusses two practical supports: a trusted person who walks alongside you and a journal for reflecting on victories, setbacks, and lessons learned.
Meanwhile, “Search Your Life” encourages readers to look beneath their behavior and seek competent help when needed.
