The October 7 massacre of over 1200 Israeli people by Hamas was a monstrous act of pure evil. The Jewish people will always remember this dark event. It was a day when Israel’s enemies took her by surprise in an attempt to kill as many Jews as possible.
Hamas was responsible for the massacre. Of course, Hamas had the support of Iran and other terrorist countries and organizations. In the end, Hamas is one spear used by Iran to harm Israel.
What is Hamas?
In Arabic, the word “hamas” means “zeal” or “enthusiasm,” but in Hebrew it means “violence.”
We also find the word “hamas” in the Bible in the Book of Genesis 6:11 (TLV) where we read
Now the earth was ruined before God, and the earth was filled with violence [hamas].
So…what is Hamas?
It depends, right? For some, Hamas is a terror organization who operates like ISIS[1] and who exists with the purpose of annihilating Israel.
What is terrorism, and what is a terrorist organization?
Terrorist organizations engage in acts of terrorism to advance their political, ideological, religious and/or social objectives. Terrorists use violence and intimidation to create panic and fear in a target population.
Moreover, terrorist groups employ violent tactics like assassinations, hostage-taking, bombing and other forms of violence to achieve their goals. Terrorist organizations have a specific agenda and through their actions, they intend to force their agenda and change governments or societies to conform to their beliefs and demands.
The members of terrorist organizations deliberately target civilians with the purpose of instilling fear and to convey their religious/political message.
In the light of October 7, 2023, Hamas, by all the above definitions, is a terrorist organization. Therefore, I am surprised to see so many pro-Hamas protests in cities like New York or London, given the brutal and evil attack on Israel in October 2023.
If I label Hamas as a terrorist organization, I mean that it is more of a religious terrorist organization, unlike PLO, which is more of a political terrorist organization.[2] In the end, a terrorist organization is a terrorist organization.
Not everybody agrees
However, for others, Hamas is not a terrorist organization but a “freedom movement.” And its members are “freedom fighters” with the sole purpose of liberating the so-called Palestine from the so-called “Zionist entity.”
I wonder what possible justification Hamas have for kidnapping families and the elderly, raping young women[3] and killing babies? How could a normal person call such people (if you can call them people) freedom fighters? I would not even call them animals because animals treat each other better.
Al Jazeera (in my view another branch of Hamas, just like UNRWA[4]) considers Hamas a resistance movement.[5] Al Jazeera justify the murders perpetrated by Hamas and try to make Hamas look like a victim who did what it did in order to respond to the so-called “atrocities” faced by the Palestinians from Israel. So, this is their “righteous” justification for Hamas slaughtering babies in their cribs.
Hamas is a worldview
Even though I agree Hamas is indeed a terror organization, I first see Hamas as a worldview or an ideology. Or a mental illness—just like antisemitism.
A worldview, according to merriam-webster.com is
a comprehensive conception or apprehension of the world especially from a specific standpoint
An ideology is
a manner or the content of thinking characteristic of an individual, group, or culture
The ideology of Hamas is actually antisemitism, anti-Israel and anti-Zionism. Hamas has in its own DNA the urge to kill as many Jewish people as possible and to destroy the state of Israel—then repeat. Nothing else.
One cannot fight an ideology or a worldview with tanks or military drones. To defeat an ideology, one must replace it with another ideology. In order for the people in Gaza to adopt a different worldview than Hamas’s worldview, Hamas—as an organization and ideology/worldview—needs to be annihilated.
UNRWA and the UN
In a way, one of the most shocking revelations on this war between Israel and Hamas is the involvement of the UN with Hamas through organizations like UNRWA.
When (terrorist) organizations like UNRWA instead of helping the young generations to embrace a new worldview liberated from hatred against Israel, they do the opposite—they encourage antisemitism and anti-Israel feelings and educate the young to hate other human beings. It is crazy that UNRWA members were actively involved in the October 7 massacre!
Who can trust the UN now? I mean, I never trusted the UN. The UN (United Nothing) is the biggest anti-Semitic organization in the world. It is well known that they have anti-Israel feelings and a pro-Hamas agenda. It seems like the UN is becoming more like Hamas and Islamic Jihad and Iran (and their partners).
The IDF have found proof of UN buildings used by Hamas terrorists.[6] However, the UN continue to deny the evidence and continue to portray itself as a righteous organization.
In my view, as I already said, UNRWA is a terrorist organization itself—or at least, they are a Hamas proxy.[7]
Hamas’s worldview
Hamas’s worldview is deeply rooted in its interpretation of Islam, which adds another layer of complexity to its ideology. Hamas believes in the practice of Jihad against all non-Muslims, but especially against the Jews.
In Hamas’s worldview, there is no Israel. Hamas continues to reject the existence of the State of Israel and denies Israel’s legitimacy to exist. And thus Hamas calls for Israel’s destruction. Their refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist fosters an environment of perpetual hostility when Hamas uses terrorist tactics against civilians. Suicide bombings, rocket attacks, and other forms of terrorism have been hallmarks of the group’s approach, resulting in numerous casualties and widespread fear. Hamas is a threat to regional peace efforts.
Furthermore, the influence of Hamas extends beyond regional borders. Hamas has close ties with Iran, Qatar, Syria, Lebanon, etc. And through the media and the Muslim refugees, the Hamas worldview infects our homes in Europe, America and all the West.
Hamas is in Europe
Hamas is a worldview—a worldview in which the Jewish people and the state of Israel have no place. And the truth is that Hamas is in Europe and America through the many Muslim immigrants and through the Internet.
Europe has seen in the last 10-15 years an influx of millions of Muslim refugees and immigrants coming from countries in the Middle East—countries that are consummated by virulent and aggressive anti-Zionism/anti-Semitism.
And these refugees and immigrants bring their country’s spirit/worldview with them to Europe and this has caused Europe and the EU (and America) to become more anti-Israel than ever.
Muslim immigrants and refugees through their organizations and media continue to promote their anti-Israel agenda and in time they even entered within the EU’s organizations.[8]
What can we do?
Of course, part of my proposed solution for reducing the Hamas worldview in Europe is to shut down all the Muslim organizations who are affiliated with terrorist organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood (who is tied to Hamas) and those that directly or indirectly nurture or promote a spirit of anti-Semitism/anti-Israel.
I would even argue for the need for expulsion of those immigrants or refugees who get involved in promoting in any way an anti-Israel/antisemitism agenda.
Because antisemitism can be labeled as a sickness, I propose that any Muslim immigrant or refugee who wants to make Europe their home should undergo a process of detoxification from anti-semitism, and many of them should also see a psychiatrist.
They should go through a process of learning about the Holocaust, about anti-Semitism and about the Judeo-Christian values of Europe (as many as are still left on the continent). Moreover, they should take classes on antisemitism for at least a couple of years after they enter Europe.
I believe Hamas is present wherever there are Muslim refugees/immigrants (I don’t want to imply all the Muslim refugees or immigrants have the Hamas worldview). However, organizations like Hamas don’t necessarily need other people in our countries to spread their ideology and worldview when the Internet makes it so easy to infiltrate in every corner of the world.
I believe what happened on October 7, 2023, in Israel could take place anywhere. Organizations like Hamas will not stop attacking Israel and the Jewish people. Because of their radical interpretation of Islam, they will attack all people who dare not embrace their worldview of a militant Islam who conquers the world.
Let us all pray for Israel and for the people in Gaza! And for all the Muslim immigrants and refugees in Europe and all over the world! And let us pray for God’s protection over our children, families and countries against the demonic influence of Hamas’s worldview and ideology.
